Computer Specs Help
Okay well I am planning on buying a new laptop.
Why not the worlds greatest gaming manufacturer, alien ware.
alienware.com is there website.
I am planning on buying this laptop
http://www1.dell.com/ca/p/alienware-m15x/fs (Good, not better or best) (no customization eaither)
Those are the specs I am going to use for gaming.
I want if those are bad/good/excellent computer specs for gaming.
I am going to download starcraft 2 and it requires these specs
http://us.blizzard.com/support/article. ... cale=en_US
Will the laptop above be able to handle this game? (I am going to set the game settings on max, so I need more then minimum requirement)

Re: Computer Specs Help
Man, you're seriously going to go all the way for Starcraft II?
Amazing.
Well, I DO recommend the Alienware laptop, though not the newest but still one of the best.
I mean, my older brother uses the new Alienware M15x, with customization ftw.
He can run Starcraft II with the specs he has.
Also, to see if your computer can run Starcraft II, go here.
http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
And then type in 'Starcraft II'
And it will scan your computer to see the specifications.

Re: Computer Specs Help
I was hoping for you to check this out.
I am a dedicated blizzard fan :D
Many people are telling to just get a custom built laptop, but considering I know NOTHING about computer specs I don't think that would end well.
Your brother uses customization and I am not, I am just going to stick with what it gives me in the (good) section out of the three.
So do you think the standard specs for the m15x will run starcraft on the highest quality?

Re: Computer Specs Help
I probably think it will.
I'm going to look into this more.
Also, edited my post above.
:3
Also, I used to play WoW.
Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-350M 2.26GHz (3M cache)
Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 240M

Hard Drive: 250GB SATAII 7,200RPM
And I will keep editing. lolz
Those are the default specs.

Re: Computer Specs Help
I would test that above, but I know for sure my computer wouldn't run starcraft 2
So that won't help lol

Re: Computer Specs Help
lmao.
Like I said above, I will still look into this.
xD
Ok, the specs are up to par with the recommended settings.

Re: Computer Specs Help
Thats epic.
Alienware aurora is always awesome. Yeah I know alienware laptops are heavy lol, but it is worth it. Since I am not planning on taking it anywhere. I also heard the mouse pad is horrible lol.
I asked another person about this and he said the exact same thing as you did.
For 50 I could upgrade the processor to this: Intel® Core™ i5-430M 2.26GHz (2.53GHz Turbo Mode, 3M cache) should I?
Secondly I was planning on upgrading the LCD panel to this 15.6-inch WideFHD 1920x1080 (1080p) WLED for 150 dollars. I don't think I should but whats your recommendations?
-
Re: Computer Specs Help
I might recommend on the upgrade.
xD
The processor to the i5? Yes, I would recommend it. Since it's one of the best out there.
And the LCD? Yes, but if you're low on money, don't upgrade it.
