I have been having troubles with trojans (I think) so what I have done and had work, kind of... (I don't have virus stuff so it is kinda failing) but is going back in time with my computer. It is a function called system restore.
I can't tell you exactly how to do it, because it is different from each OS, so just google system restore with your OS too. I hope this helps

Try following: Download antivirus software with internet explorer (i suggest http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php , i was able to get rid of a very dangerous trojan with it, antivir premium is really sh*t). Install it. Disconnect internet by removing the hardware! Scan your computer. If you have luck and you can remove it, do it. Connect to internet again. Look if you got really rid of it. If not you can try to uninstall fire fox and do the steps again.

Try uninstalling Firefox then reinstalling it
Or look through FF's Program Files to see if you can find anything out of the ordinary
