Nope get a computer, Wipe windows, put on Linux enjoy
If you are planning on doing something that has something to do with multimedia/arts/videos, then yes
Load a media based Linux, it's free, and Mac's are expensiveQuote:

Only take a Mac if you have money to waste. Otherwise, get a PC (and/or install linux)
If you're planning on getting a personal computer for a lot of uses, then mac isn't the way to go. It's good for doing a set amount of things, such as using it for art, graphic designing, programming, etc., but it's not an all around computer. And it's definitely not a gaming computer.
Who ever said he couldn't use GIMP? GIMP runs great on linux.... and what was the last time you tried WINE? I got Sothink running through it... well.Quote:

We all know that and probably 4 people think so to.
Do explain why Viruses, freezing, Blue Screen's of Death are good?Quote:

I like Windows, and pretty much everything software wise works with Windows.
You do realize that only happens if you control it like that.Quote:

That only happens when you try to download the "p word".Quote:

E-Books can contain viruses (pdf files can hold a malicious script), too.
I would use linux as the surfing computer for surfing the internet and so forth, but when you take into account that Windows is where the .exe files run, I'd first test them with WINE on the linux IF I gave a shi- about my hard-drive :)Quote:

Linux handles RAM better, doesn't fragment the harddrive or anything, the only reason Windows is better is because it is better supportedQuote:

Yeah and that is what it all comes down to - compatibilitiy. I would agree that in every other aspect Linux is good shiz; even though i've never used it.Quote:

Anyway, building a PC would be the best option. You normally end up saving money and it allows for much more customization...I can help with hardware as I have built a PC myself. If you want to me me and Willy happy, you could do a dual boot with 7 and Linux on it..
It will be soon ;) as soon as support roles around then it will be better than Windows and you know itQuote:

I'm so ashamed. I still got my computer from 2005 that cost me... 500 bucks.
:hello:
I agree with getting Linux. I've never had the opportunity to use it, but everyone says it's amazing
It's amazing if you're willing to learn some console commands and an entire new OS. Imagine someone who's used Mac OS throughout their entire life, but then have to learn to use Windows without anyone helpingQuote:

You can run Linux and Windows on a Mac.
