I want to express an opinion. And I want to hear your opinions as well. It'll be fun.
This forum has died. I know you all know that. We have a small community of active posters, over-populated staff, and hardly any new posts being posted. The trolls surf this wasteland, destroying any topic of relative importance. ATF used to be a nice community of friendly people, and I believe that's what made us approachable. Now that most of us have left, all that's left is a group of attackers (with a few people as exceptions), making newcomers feel unsafe. Yes, I'll admit that I got in on the fun, but I never took it to extremes.
I also feel like the staff can't stop it either. What could they do? Sure, they could ban the remainder of people here, but that would be the last signs of activity left on this forum, dispersed in 10 minutes. And you would think with all the staff that we have, it wouldn't be just Joel and Sub trying to keep it regulated. We need to get back out attitudes from the old days, where we were nice and greeted everyone with a sense of justice, but also with acceptance.
Now that I'm done with the users, I'll turn my attention to the staff. I also think you are to blame for the decrease of activity in the forum. People come here to learn to hack games that they want to play. APH has a link for that specific topic. But staff is so paranoid that everyone will learn their secrets, that they made almost everything staff-only. I could understand button and key hacking, but when you started to make more things staff-only, I realized what would happen eventually. People want to hack games that they play, which in today's times is pretty much all AS3. Staff wants to keep all information about that subject secret, which causes people to look elsewhere for the information. And once they find the forum (we all know where it is too), they register there, and become active on that forum. Leaving this forum to it's primitive state. APH used to have a lot of contributors, which is why ATF was so popular, but when staff took over all the hacking, users found that the forum wasn't anything special, and that the awesome community it used to have had vanished due to it.

Users need to stop being so trollish, staff needs to be more active moderating, and staff needs to stop being so paranoid about hacking.
P.S. The competitor that you are competing against has AS3 tutorials, and they will eventually beat you because of your paranoia. Fix it.
