Invent Something

I've decided to create another thread. Here, the main objective is basically to share ideas with each other on inventing new things. For example, if you have an idea for a more energy efficient car, man-powered helicopter, or even something rather simple, like a cup that dangles under a pot's lid, where you put in whatever it is you're frying and when you put the lid on top of the pot, the cup inside flips over, making sure you don't get sprayed with oil (or whatever it is you use) and preventing minor burns.

And on that note, that's my idea that I want to share. I'll be uploading a diagram or two sooner or later, but for now, I hope that many of you, whether you're an engineer with a masters or a teenage kid with nothing better to do, let your creativity come alive and think of something that could improve our lives, even in the smallest way.

(Also, please don't say something like "Don't litter." I want legitimate ideas that people can have a look at and help you with improving it, etc.)

i would invent regenerating cells or something like that, in apply it to things like pencils, pens, etc. it would work the same way skin works. For example, when you trip over a snail and scrape your elbow, your skin would slowly grow back over time. what im thinking is, if it were/was possible, is to apply this to simple things like the pen or pencil. So as the ink or lead starts running out, you could put it away then a week or two later it would be fully back to its normal amount. Of course the problem of it continuosly growing and never ending could be an issue, its just an idea. :)

So from my limited knowledge of science, you're suggesting we create a hybrid pencil? So, making the ink/lead a organic, living creature...

However, I think that every living thing, no matter how they reproduce, must take in some type of energy.

So, I'm guessing the lead/ink would act like a plant? Then you, my friend, would have created the first man made item that could use photosynthesis... I think...

If you were to create this, using photosynthesis as an energy source, then you may have just solved the "unlimited" supply of ink/lead. When you don't need anymore, just keep it out of the sun. :D

idea #2:Military armor that could deflect bullets/ light. not 100% sure if this was invented already or not but i was thinking, if they could make armor for military personnel that would make bullets turn to liquid (not litteraly). I mean that once the bullet hits the armor, assuming the armor is strong enough, it would be crushed under its own force. But other than the fact it would be saving tons of our troops lives, it would need to be light. Not heavy, nor bulky. This way the could be invulnerable to all sorts of bullets/ sharp metal things, while able to move with ease and agility. Not very creative I know, but it could save lives.The downs: If it got into bad hands (which it positively at one point will) it could be recreated for enemy soldiers making the entire point of it useless. Also, it would probably be very pricy, not every soldier would be able to get one or the country would go bankrupt. Not to mention all the resources it would consume. So yeah, that is all. Not very creative but just an idea :)

Well, such vests already exist they are just not that light. New techniques and materials will improve them in the future and make them lighter. These vests are quite complicated with a mixture of many materials in several layers.

Thats true for most war equipment. So maybe we should stop shooting at each other.

well, ZuckeR, im sure that everyone wants there to be "world peace" but when someone does something as wrong as 9/11, you cant simply let it slide. In order for your idea to happen is to go straight to the problem and say to them, "Can you please not kill these innocent people?", whether they say yes or not will give you the answer to your statement.

Yeah i know that it will never happen, it was meant as a joke. But i like the idea of going to a terrorist and ask him to be a bit more polite. But i guess you would need to be a Jedi to do that: "Not kill so many people you must!"

What i meant was that many advances in military technology is countered by some new technology. Humanity should concentrate much more on stuff that does good rather then stuff that kills people. All the money that is in the weapons market could be used much better ways.

There will always be good and evil. The People of the world need to come together to create a better world. But as long as we have Dictators that love the control and power we will never see it.

Now back on topic...

How about a self cleaning bathroom. I know the have public ones already in use in many cities across the world but how about on for the home?

I find that a very interesting idea, although now we need to think of a efficient and cheap method of having said self cleaning bathroom. Will this cleaner be installed in the washroom, as in in the walls, toilets etc. or will it be a totally different device that you add into the washroom? Kind of like air conditioners. There are ones built into houses, then there are those boxes you bring home.

So to conclude:

Ideas on how to make it efficient (less time to clean washroom, how it will know when to clean (will there be sensors?)) and how it might be more cost friendly, such as saving cleaning agents, etc.

Third idea is: Time Machine. Or Teleporting Device. Again, unoriginal I know, but it would be pretty sweet to have a teleporter in your house! I would assume it would be very costly, and that only the rich and genius would be able to get some but lets say it wasnt so expensive. Well, for one, the world would be a giant mind f***. Imagine this, your a 20 year old man who is a farmer. Now with the time machine you could go back in time, go to college, and come back as the new president. But what would happen to the original president? The one who made the right choice in the beginning? Well, now hes the farmer. Then a smart mouthed punk went back in time and screwed up the mind of the first people. Well now the first people have advanced technology. Making the advanced civilization not so existent. But that means that they never would have existed in the first place. Basicly, time machines would screw up the world and its history. As for teleporters: i dunno that would just be epic xD
