28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Yeah so.. The girls in my class have been telling me about this "60 earth hour" thingy, how we should shut down all lamps for an hour.
I was thinking about this, if shutting down all the light for one hour will literally add years to the time that earth has left or if its just symbolic and a sign of support for Mother Nature.
There theres a topic, now.. The debate can begin.

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Quite frankly, it doesn't matter as we're going to eventually die anyways.

Arent you gonna get kids?

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
It probably wont add years.

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Justin, we may die eventually, but it doesn't seem we can't try to perhaps improve this planet..After all, we as the human race have destroyed Earth and nature with our instinct to improve our lives and not of other living creatures.
If we were to shut off all power for at least an hour, that would cut up so much waste that we everyday release into the atmosphere

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
The planet will eventually die, too.
Unless you're super-religious and believe that science does not exist. But them of course, who says we're being logical? xD
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Incorrect. the planet will not die untill the sun explodes. the sun might never explode :P

I agree with Ryu.

Science says that sun will explode.
Sun is a star.
All stars explode and create a black hole?

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Incorrect AGAIN
Read this sharpfire
No, the Sun will not explode. To explode indicates that the internal forces will eventually overcome gravity and violently tear the Sun apart. This is not the fate in store for the Sun. As Clark described, the Sun will eventually start to burn helium to produce Carbon. However, that is as far as it will go. The Sun does not have enough mass to generate the heat required to burn carbon to produce heavier elements. As helium builds up in the Sun's core, the hydrogen fusion will move to higher levels in the Sun. This will more strongly heat the outer layers of the Sun causing them to expand. (This is not an explosion.) The Sun will eventually expand to swallow Earth and possibly even Mars. At the same time the core will contract raising the temperature until helium fuses to produce Carbon. The Helium will be burned up fairly quickly. Once it is gone, the core will begin to collapse down to a white dwarf and the outer layers will relatively quietly separate from the core and move outward to form a planetary nebula ( http://tinyurl.com/dhsej) . This is the fate that awaits the sun.
FYI, when astronomers talk about a star exploding, they are usually talking about some sort of nova or supernova. The Sun has nowhere near enough mass to do that

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
If the Sun swallows Earth we
Will all still be dead.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
But the sun will not explode and Thus. the sun wont end...And we'll be dead long before the sun devours earth. us in the 21st century that is.

incorrect, we are going to suck the planet dry befor the sun ever explodes.... we are taking everything we have and sending it up in space ships... and what happens to the stuff up there? eventually they will stop working and just float off or clogg the earths atmosphere and not let any sun light in at all, and we will all die.....

The sun might not explode, but the earth will definitely die out eventually. The green house gases we are clogging up in that dam atmosphere are gonna build up and the earth will slowly get hotter and melt.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
DID YOU NOT READ WHAT I POSTED?
The sun is gonna swallow the earth Way before the earth ''melts'' it self..
You can ask google.

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
the answer to life, the universe, and everything is 42 so don't worry don't waste your time we are having daylight savings so they can eff off we are saving an hour
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
...
Fabzx thats a noobish comment..
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Fabx one more post will be a warning. Before anything happens to the sun, other galactic events will kill earth, so stop prioritizing your fighting using the sun as a variable.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
.... Lets just put it as (Unknown currently)
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Okay...
So the sun might
explode
devour earth
not do anything
or suicde
or shoot itself.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
No it cant suicide or shoot it self. lets just let the topic go away y'know?
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Um, no. The sun can technically shoot itself with the magnetic sun spots.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
I was joking about the suicide/shoot itself.
Make some laughs?

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Seeing how life does not equal 42. It's the universe only. ;P

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
their is no need ot worry about the earth the way we do things might have caused the earth to suck for a while but its not all us its also the atmospheres fault
burning chunks of metors colide with the earth everyday mabey even every second and the atmosphere burns those rocks when they are entering fire = carbon dioxide
also we can blame nasa 50 tons of gasoline just to go to the moon what a jip cant they be more fuel efficent like haundai or tyota or something
even though those car companies suck also
if u wana turn off your computer fine but its charity and no one cares about it so whats the big freaking deal so what if the atmosphere rips in half and antartica melts or something we will adapt somehow you know like those underwater cameras i mean fish have been doing it since when? their was water on the earth and the bacteria + seaweed had little fish babies.
their is a billion years left and im gona spend them at peace with myself so screw global warming its a myth :D

Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
it depends on how you look at it and at what prespective
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
Killer. How else do you propose we get to the moon when lifting a 1000ton spaceship other than burning that which can lift 1000 tons... besides gasoline.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
use a stick of dynamite :D (its a movie joke..... old old movie....)
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
helyum or solar power generating so much static electricity that it magnetises everything giving it so much push that it could go beyond i mean you can use anything like theve made aquad core proceser running 3.32 ghz on all cores less then the size of your palm meaning its 1000% more efficent less electricity used meaning they can integrate that to creat electricity using what ever you could wish for its just they dont want to everything is possible and they just need to be more fuel efficent

atcually, most of the electricity that we use is from nuclear pwoer. this is the cleanest type of energy invented. it is basically rods that heat up very hot very fast, and they put them into water, and the water turns into steam. when enough of these rods are put into the water, it makes masses of energy, which we harnes, and route to places all over the world. so there is virtuialy no waste from electircity.
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
no the 3 cleanest types of electricity are as folowing
hydroelectric = water spins rootaters at places of high current or waterfalls
wind = wind blows turbines
solar = from the sun
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
ya... i aggree with killer.... nuclear is not the more efficiant.... how do you think they heat the rods? with all the energy they make.....
-
Re: 28 of March 20:30 - 21:30
fuel sometimes sometimes they drill deep inside the eartch into the mantel like areas

Erm, they aren't creating processors.
If they could, and if it is cost effective, then they would. (To all of your statements.)
