Re: Best movie ever?
Avatar. It was going to be Percy Jackson: The Lightning Theif, but tickets were sold out. :banghead: :bored:

Re: Best movie ever?
I just went to that today. Be sure to get a ticket when you find one :good:
The best-selling movie of all time, after inflation, is Gone With The Wind (1939) Which is around 1.5 billion 2010 dollars. Avatar does not break the top 10. Not even close. That, I think, is the best.

Re: Best movie ever?
Uhm avatar has made over 1 billion, its close to 2 billion.

Re: Best movie ever?
We are planning to get one tomorrow... I get up at 9:00 to get my ticket.
The old time best movie ever is The Outsiders. Read the book in 7th Grade last year, and watched the movie in 7th Grade last year as well.
EDIT: What's wrong with Avatar?

Re: Best movie ever?
Read the Outsiders in 8th grade (this year)
Mrs. Fenyus knows how to pick a good book when she sees one
And no, Avatar has not made 2 billion. Not even close. Here's where I got the information:
http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjust ... 010&p=.htm
Avatar is nestled at #20 at about 600 million.

Re: Best movie ever?
I said Gone With The Wind. And are those values adjusted for inflation?

Re: Best movie ever?
Dude it is by the same website, it is the how much the movie made totall.
Avatar has made over 2 billion.
The one you gave me is an estimate, of only domestic.
If you add foreign as well. This is what you get.
World wide avatar made the most.
Worldwide list
1. Avatar
2. Titanic
3. Lord of the rings
4. Pirates of the Caribbean
5. Dark knight

Re: Best movie ever?
Now who ever said that domestic doesn't apply to foreign? Domestic is the public, something open to the public. How do we know that the list at BOM doesn't apply to worldwide sales?
