Who thinks that smiley limits are annoying? :arrgghh: I personally think that its important to stop spam this way, but there are better ways to do it. I think the best way would be that there has to be a ratio of smileys to text, so if you have a very large post, then you can have more smileys :yes: . This would mean that if someone has a long post, then they could just smiley spam at one part of it. But what if you werent aloud to do 3 continous smileys. This means you have to have text inbetween your smileys. This would be the ULTIMATE way to prevent smiley spam and still be able to express yourself with smileys! :bananas:

The smiley limit will increase,that's for sure.

but maybe it could be like for every 400 characters you get another smiley. and you cant use more than like 3 in a row.
400 sounds like a lot, but this is already 300 characters.

its like internet 101 this is the only forums i know where there is a smilie cap.. heck i rarely ever use them too. But there useful when others use them.

This forum has the record online now with the lowest limit on smilies (3) no other forum has a limit that low. But even ones with limits of 10 people complain its not enough for them

JK. people went crazy with smileys! eventualy something had to be done about it.... thats when the limit came in :evil:
anyways, 5 sounds like the best limit to ME. just small enough that people cant go INSANE and large enough that people can express themselves correctly with emoticons.
