Dude it's a len glass,it cannot be thinner.
And it's not just the glass,it's a lot of things that have to be perfectly centered.
I'm sorry for going against this but I didn't know about this (the mythbusters bustin the myth)

Lenses are curved, they are thicker in the middle, while they are thinner on the outside.
Meaning, if you try and go on the side, it will hit the metal and not go through.
While if you shoot in the middle, its most probably not going through.
Plus we didnt mention the glass shards deviating the bullet.
So yeah, not happening.
