Does not work on Windows Vista or Windows 7. Duh.
Follow this PRECISELY.
You may need to restart your computer for this to take effect. It doesn't always work.
1. Download resource hacker here. Open it.
2. Open task manager. (Ctrl-alt-del)
3. In Resource Hacker, go to File > Open.
4. Find explorer.exe and open it. You should only have to press E a couple of times to find it.
5. On Res hacker, go to String table, then 37, then 1033.
6. You'll see the word "start"
7. Change it to whatever you like. However, if the message is too long it won't work.
8. Go to task manager, and then click processes. Go to explorer.exe and quit the process. Watch a bunch of stuff vanish temporarily.
9. Don't freak out. IF RESOURCE HACKER IS CLOSED, SKIP TO STEPS 12 and 13.
10. Alt+Tab to Resource Hacker. Click "Compile Script"
11. Go to File > Save. Find explorer.exe again and save. It will ask you if you want to overwrite it. Click "Yes."
12. Use ALT+TAB to get to Task manager and click File > Run at the top.
13. Type in explorer.exe and click Ok.
14. After a few seconds, your new start button will pop up. If not, your message is too long, you need to restart your computer or maybe it just doesn't work for some unknown reason.
