Gone.
It actually depends on what you were taught.
My teachers taught me that you multiply first, and then divide.
But I've met people who say that you multiply and divide in the order of left to right.
o this... i just learnt this and its erm 1 yes its 1Originally Posted by RoyalWaffle

PEMDAS.
Multiply and divide left to right. That's what I was taught.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: The Lord comes swiftly.
What Aub said.
6÷2(2+1) can be opened to 6÷2*3, hence the answer is 9
Its 9 as you have to use the BIDMAS rule.
(B)rackets
(I)ndices
(D)ivision
(M)ultiplication
(A)ddition
(S)ubtraction
Stuff in parenthesis goes first.
Then divisions/multiplications(done at the same time), then adding and subtracting.
When does algebra come?
Oh, and division/multiplications come like this:
5*4÷2
=20÷2
=10
Left to right
pemdas
6/2(2+1)
(2+1)=3
2(3)=6
6/6=1
the answer is 1
