Do you restore your computer to the factory defaults?
I have a virus and its gotten too deep into my computer to use a virus scanner, because it will make my computer inoperable, so I need to know how.
I have a Windows XP if that helps

Um... I used to be a moderator here...
What's the virus called? Or what does it do/what does it look like?
If you still have your Windows XP CD you could just re-install Windows.
I've been here before.

Try looking in your "Process" list.
CTRL + ALT + Delete and look if you can find anything suspicious.
I've been here before.
But I have a bunch of things that have wierd names...
Here is the list (just to see if you can find anything):
- taskmgr.exe
- alg.exe
- ccsvchst.exe
- Ymsgr_tray.exe
- firefox.exe
- WLIDSVCM.EXE
- svchost.exe
- svchost.exe
- svchost.exe
- svchost.exe

- ccxvchst.exe

- lsass.exe
- services.exe
- winolgon.exe
- csrss.exe
- spoolsv.exe
- smss.exe
- smssgs.exe
- ctfmon.exe
- jusched.exe
- jqs.exe
- svchost.exe

- ZuneLauncher.exe
- svchost.exe
- svchost.exe
- aawservice.exe
- WLIDSVC.EXE
- ZuneBusEnum.exe
- explorer.exe
- System
- System Idle Process
Is it bad that i have a bunch of "svchost.exe"'s running?
Edit: nevermind, i know what svchost.exe is now.
I also went into CMD and looked at what service is running on each of the process in the Task Manager. I'm gonna see if I can find anything out of the ordinary

I don't know. But I don't know what programs you installed, so I also won't know which of them might be a virus.
Try googling for the Kaspersky Rescue CD. It might help you
I've been here before.
I think I found the problem.
apperently spoolsv.exe is either a trojan or a printer file, and mine turned out to be a trojan.
I still might have some problems, but I'm sure I can figure it out on my own
Request lock

Be sure to google the virus and see if it made any changes in the Registry.
Start --> Run --> regedit.exe
Locked
