A poem of mine

Made up on the spot, by the way ^^

Yes, it is a Sonnet.

The world is a cold place full of hatred
Deep, dark, and empty as he runs the race
People talk to him as his face turns red
He presses onward and keeps good pace

Empty and scared he drops onto his knees
Sending up only his cares and his prayers <(Prayers is one syllable)
His thoughts are on her as he cries and pleas
He still holds on to the wish that she cares

Only empty and broken is he now
With no one to care for and hold on to
He silently weeps for life took its bow
He still only seeks to see her anew (Anew and to have a same end sound, sound them out.)

He watches his life fade into blackness
As her name is called no more from darkness

Rhymes aren't necessary, there is such a thing as free verse.
And most poems are written about bad things because, well, they are.
Happy-sounding poems are actually pretty difficult to find.
