Well, you can play both alone or multiplayer, you have general freedom of movement (but moreso on an MMO) and you attack stuff. Not much to contrast though.

agreed, i like that you are the one who goes out and does stuff in mmos, in a fps its mostly going around shooting.. a mmo is more of freeplay, doing whatever you like

I dont like MMOs, mainly because theres 10 year olds that use 5000000 dollars to buy every single upgrade and be untouchable or those 50 year old saddos that spent their entire life infront of that game so they're uberpro and as soon as you step out, you get killed.
Multiplayer is another thing.
FPS Multiplayer is my favorite, personally.
