Religion is all astrological. >_>
Yes, I think that it has some basis in the stars, but I think that most would do best to look in themselves and realize that most religion spawns from the very real fear of death itself. I would have to believe that all religion is based around this fear, I mean, every religion, without fail, speaks of some sort of afterlife, whether it be good or bad. And almost all religions preach that one must be good in order to get what you want in the afterlife.Originally Posted by JustinCredible
This begs the question, was religion created with the ulterior motive of controlling people? You saw it throughout the Middle Ages, and partially into the 20th century. People have always fought, died, and lived for their particular religious beliefs. Religion had been the cause of every major war up until the 1700's, and religion was the single most prevailing factor in history until the 20th century.
But I suppose that in the end, the decision is yours. Religion, to me, is a total and totally unethical scam, and over the centuries has risen to a cult status, to the point where when I stated my religious views in my English 121, I got the s*it beat out of me after class. Its sad, how people will use violence to make a point about a supposedly peaceful culture. So, anyone care to take up an opposing view to me?
Ah, and BTW, I know I've been gone for a hella long time, but there havent been any good topics, man. You all need to step it up.
