    The Monty Hall Paradox

You know that game show, Let's Make a Deal, right? You know at the end of the show there's the three doors, and one has a car behind it, and the other two have crap?

Yeah, so, say you're the dude picking the door. You choose the first one. Then Monty Hall reveals door #3 to reveal crap. So, when he asks you if you want to switch to door #2, do you? Do your odds increase if you switch doors?

    Discuss.

(I have my own explanation, but I'll wait to see what ya'll say.)

Yet another way to look at it, I suppose :/ but we're dealing with probability, not what you walk out with. :P

But why do your odds increase?

1/3 = 33% that changes to 1/2 or 50% your odds increase because it is basic math lol

Well, that's the same odds that apply to door #1 too. If you switch, your odds stay 50%, basically.

    Re: The Monty Hall Paradox

At the beginning, it's a 33% chance. When the third door is gone, it's a 50% chance.

It's 50/50 with whichever door you pick.

I think your odds decrease because the guy already knows what is behind the door and then tempts you to change to one that has crap.
That is only a guess, i can be wrong since i used no math at all.
