    Stuff

Hey, I haven't seen this forum much or posted any new art for a while, mostly becuase you can look at my DeviantArt instead.
But...it's so sad to see this forum dying, so here's some stuff.

    Balin from the hobbit.

    Goes with http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/ ... 41droe.png
I tried to work with the depth in this image since that is one of worst areas of skill. I did this by adding in a fractal and blurred it to make it look like it's in the extreme foreground (and blurring some of the background above his shoulder on the left), and drew in a blurry with swoosh on the right to do the same thing. I also tried to balance the lighting and provide contrast, since the left has soft lighting. Something about the Ori Signature looks weird, I tried to avoid using as many tan skin tones, and instead mixed in a lot of color into this one.

    The TARDIS

I used this as a wallpaper with the background set to black. I just cropped it to make the image smaller. I spent a long time making all the shapes and aligning them.

    Ice Cream

There's a lot of problems with this, but I wanted to try a cute vexel illustration. The shadow is really weird.

Wouldn't Inkscape be better for art such as the ice cream?

Yes, it would. I tried to use the same style that is used when creating a vector image even though it is made with pixels (hence the word "vexel").
I'm a bit scared of trying to learn how to use Inkscape, but I suppose I should probably download that eventually (perhaps today).

Not that hard to use, I've messed with it before, I see it looks like you are getting into a bit of Digital Painting? Have you seen MyPaint?

That looks like a really cool program! I haven't actually done much digital painting, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can about digital painting and traditional drawing so once I get a tablet, I can really start figuring it out.

Haven't done much in digital painting since I can only color with CS4. Let me give this program a try X3
