What happened to the chat? (i havent been on in over a year)

what happened to the website chat that used to be here?
i like the major overhaul aph has had but what happened to the chat that i so very much enjoyed talking in?
i also apologize if this is too insignificant a comment to be a thread but this seemed like the right section of the forum to ask this question in

We removed it. There was too much spam. And we didn't have the man power to moderate it. We might have an alternative in the future.

Maybe a website chat would be good. We could say all the off-topic things! (without breaking the rules, of course.)

or they could add an "off-topic" tab in the forums, so that we can talk about videogames, music, and else. please consider this opinion.
