XBL is best online community out of the three consoles have to offer.It has so much features like Avatars, demos, videos, TV shows, movies, Original Xbox games, Backwards-compatibility data for Xbox games, music, and etc ..In fact, music sales have increased just because of XBL...and just because you have to pay doesn't mean it's gay. It's only 50 bucks a year, what is so bad about that amount? It's not like World of Warcraft where you pay over a 100 dollars a year just for one game..Also, every time you buy a game it comes with 1-3 free months of XBL

Yeah, they have 2 options for membership...3 months for 20 (which in total would be 80/yearly) or you can get 50 for 12 months

And, you don't even have to buy the card. You can just get on silver membership XBL and promote to gold by going to their marketplace

Just to be clear, the difference between silver and gold is that silver membership is always free while gold is the options above...Gold however, allows you to access to multiplayer gaming and to get demoes, promotions, and videos about a week or two earlier than silver does
