I must have tried a round dozen of Flash editions, but i'm inclined to think, that this issue is some sort of a configuration problem rather than a version-incompatibility.

Nope, the file isn't blocked. But i found another difference between the reluctant intel-machine and the amd-pc which executes the files properly:
the intel has IE8 installed, while the amd still runs with IE7. Maybe there's some new internet-security-mechanism in the new Internet Explorer, which prevents the programs from working...

Yup, I think that's it.

I did a simple lookup on Google and it seems that there are certain incompatibilities with previously installed Flash 10 versions and Internet Explorer 8 BETA.

When you uninstalled the Flash Player, did you use the official Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller at the following site?

Not too well, i'm afraid. But actually, i would have been quite surprised, if it had been some problem with the temporary Files or an unclean flash installation.
Flash in the IE8 works just fine (and always did), it's just your programs that won't work.
My main-browser is opera, btw. No flash-related difficulties there either.
I'm off the a barbecue, maybe an idea will strike me as i get drunk. ^_^

EDIT: Yes, i used appropriate Uninstall-Routines. Let's get over faulty flash-installations, i guessed we ruled it out by now.

I can't think of anything other than a faulty flash installation, because I program my applications in Flash.

All the apps I publish are executable files containing the SWF.

What could be the problem then?
