All great players have great map awareness. They always know where enemy champions are by frequently glancing at the minimap. You should ALWAYS have a count in your head of where enemy champions are. For example, if you see 1 champion in each lane on Summoner's Rift, then you know that there are 2 champions MIA (Missing in Action) - usually the jungler and one other. By knowing the enemy's whereabouts, it will determine your gameplay and how aggressive or cautious you want to play. If all 5 are MIA, then you should be cautious. If you see all 5 on the map, then you can play aggressive (assuming they're far enough away not to interfere)
