Oil. Any type of resource that is in short supply. Nuclear bomb threats from other countries. Look at the Cold War for that.The Cold War had nothing to do with religion, but with government. Look at Hitler. He persuaded the Germans into war because they were starving in the streets and had no where to live because of World War I. He looked like a good man to pull them out of it.

Are you really that naive? Who holds most of the worlds oil? The Middle East. When it starts getting low, countries will start fighting over it because naturally, the countries in the Middle East will want it for themselves, and the other countries will ask them for it. When asking gets them no where, they WILL resort to fighting. Oh, and it doesn't matter when it will get low, it can be tomorrow or 1000 years down the road, but it will happen.
