It have been 15 countries in 1999 which introduced the € as virtual money.
It have been 18 countries in 2002 which introduced the € as cash.
There are 22 countries which have the € by now, the last one joining Slovakia.

In 1929, Wilson's image appeared on the $100,000 bill. The bill, now out of print but still legal tender, was only used to transfer money between Federal Reserve banks.
Cool thing, i looked at the bill and thought this guy is Woodrow Wilson and i don't even know much about American Presidents. Then i noticed the name and it really was him.

There were two guys creating this independently at almost the same time. The were Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev and Julius Lothar Meyer and both published their system in 1869/1870. The system we use till today was the one created by Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev.
