actually, do you say 20 POINT 25 dollars. nope. the correct way to say and decimal number is 47 AND 27 hundreths. because it is 47 and 27 hundreths of 1. saying "point" is an easy way to say it, but it doesnt state anything about the actual value of the number. because 47 point 27 doesnt state that it is 47 and 27 hundreths of 1. my teacher gets angry if we say "point" .
but it also pays off with fractions because, it shows that 47 and 27 hundreths = 47 and 27/100.
anyways this is a weird thing to argue for...
