In my life I have (and had) two cats: one already dead and one alive.

On the dead one (Micky) I've tooked her to a vet and castrated her. After two weeks...

Before her death and after having her castrated she was ill. I've tooked her again to the vet, he writed me some medicines, I've gave her those medicines but nothing changed. She was still ill and yet worse. In the 2nd week she couldn't resist and she deceased.
After 9 months, I've adopted another one (Suzy or Suzie) and sweared that I won't castrate this one too.

That's why I don't recommend castrating females. You can woke up, with her lying dead, next to you.
