flasm did flash 9

ok now im just confused. i downloaded a game and decompiled it. it decompiled fine. everything worked the way it was supposed to. the game was 140kb and the .txt file was 254kb. but when i opened it the first lines were

movie 'EvoCannon.swf' compressed // flash 9, total frames: 10, frame rate: 120 fps, 800x600 px
then it had all the code.so yeah. what the hell

try use Adobe Flash to search for the variable it might display it

That might because the .swf file might be collecting data from another .swf , which was located on that server which you got it from. They do this because of copyright. Does the game still work.

If the code shows up fine, it means the game is AS2 or lower, not AS3.

AS3 files have a certain structure. They are organized much more neatly in classes.

This probably means that the person who made it probably made it in Adobe Flash CS3, but used ActionScript 2 or 1 instead, and published it into Flash 9 Player format.

'Flash 9' doesn't necessarily mean that the file is AS3, only that it was made for Flash Player version 9.

isnt it also because that the .txt file is just code and not a hole bunch of graphics or something? :3
