Some CMD Tricks
Open cmd (start --> run. Type in cmd), type the following (not the bracketed) and press enter. < or > = type in an example of the text inside it.
shutdown -i (remote shutdown dialog)
shutdown -a (to abort a shutdown process)
winsat aurora (vista only, but its so cool!)
tracert <web url> (trace the route to a URL)
ping <web url> (sends packets of data to a site)
ping -a <web url> (keeps going on and on until you exit. Sometimes can override and crash an unsupported website.)
nslookup <web url> (tests and troubleshoots DNS servers of a website. Quite useful for getting past some web blockers)
telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl (XP or earlier, I think.. Easter egg, plays Star Wars - Episode 4 in text!)
help (gives a useful, yet boring list of commands)
tree (lists a tree of computer files)
msg <account name> <your message> (XP or earlier, I think, again. Sends a message to a user account.)
msg * <your message> (Sends a message to all accounts in the network)
I might update later.
