Hold shift and space bar and click where the box was.
It should say a race called "Resistance is Futile". Click enter and away you go.
This also works for the dominion and cardassian (for cardassian you star out with the galor class)

Go on new game
when it asks what race you want to be, right click and then get rid of the menu that comes up when you right click.
DO NOT LEAVE THE NEW GAME MENU
press the tab key until it selects something just above the "y" in the back ground

go to paso and zoom out u will see a white dot very far from the 3 mining things, go for it, buy it and boom u have it
